In 1970, what started as a small family business of manufacturing diamonds in Mumbai expanded globally, to make D.Navinchandra the preferred supplier of quality polished diamonds to reputed jewelry manufacturers the world-over. With a steady supply of rough from three of the leading mining companies of the world: RIO TINTO, ALROSA and BHP BILITTON the company has a clear competitive advantage in the polished diamond market.With large state-of-the-art manufacturing units suitably located in Surat, Ahmedabad and Bhavnagar the company has access to local skilled craftsmen and provides employment to over 8000 artisans. This eventually formed the platform for a global company,now they have handed over the reins the company to their sons and nephew: Samir Mehta, Ajesh Mehta and Manoj Mehta.
